Having a Ball While Giving Back: Q2 Dodgeball Tournament Supports Diabetes Research
November is National Diabetes Awareness month, and Q2 created meaningful opportunities to raise funds and amplify JDRF’s mission to accelerate life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent and treat Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) on Tuesday, November 14, by holding its annual Q2 Dodgeball tournament and lighting Q2 Stadium bright blue.
The Annual Q2 Dodgeball Tournament and Q2 Stadium Raised Funds to Benefit JDRF
Hundreds of participants played in the annual Q2 Dodgeball Tournament at Q2 Stadium this year, including Q2 employees and community partners. Q2 Stadium hosted 765 participants, 33 teams and 65 volunteers. Competitors played on five tournament courts, the most to date. Teams rallied together to create uniforms and quirky team names, including Untouchaballs, One Hit Wonders and Game of Throws.
Teams that competed in knockout-style rounds until a winner emerged. For the second year, The Untouchaballs claimed the first-place title and trophy for Q2 teams and for the first time, the Q2 All Star team won the overall tournament trophy.
Going Blue for JDRF
In addition to the tournament, bright blue lights shone in Q2 Stadium to cap off Diabetes Awareness Month.
Participation Across the U.S.
While Q2 team members played dodgeball, colleagues in other Q2 locations also had a ball while giving back, collecting monetary donations, food and other items for charities.
